Lupus
We all had to give up our Horse Careers or enjoyment of horses... Due to this disease!
Our goal is to help spread awareness about Lupus and how it affects the people in the Horse Industry. How it can cripple anyone financially just having lupus, but especially Lupus Victims in the Equine/Farming/Agriculture or anyone who has to work outdoors.
5 minutes outside for some Lupus Victims will mean a 3 month flare up to where they sleep 30 and 40 hours at a time and can barely hold their heads up!
Lupus is a Auto Immune Disease... which means your immune system has all this xtra power and fights when there is nothing to fight! So... our immune system turns on us and tries to kill us! (our definition in layman's terms)
Most of us can look back and realize that for 7 to 15 years there was always a hint that something was wrong! From hearing a buzz or cricket sound coming from the sun to a buzzing sound every time we stood up, black spots, very sleepy after getting outside, space out moments, knee injuries, neck aches or crick in neck that last months to years, and depending on type of lupus, aggressive behavior when menstrual cycle comes... Nope its not PMS as we thought for all those years!
Symptoms very so much that not any one person can say they have the exact as another! We are not here to teach you or educate you on Lupus... Only to inform and make you aware of this disease that kills thousands every year! And Someone You Know Has Lupus and

All this is fine and dandy... and even believable in the beginning... but tell this to a person who's husband has to remind their wife to take a breath because she has no urge to need oxygen and forgot to breathe!
Tell this to several of our members who have lost their relationship with their children due to them not being able to spend time with them or even drive to see them and broken promises that were made when they were having a good day... A Normal Day... A Day when the World Tasted Sweet and There was Love... Only for that promise to need to be fullfilled on a day that you could smell death in the air, A day that just to hold their head up took all their life out of them... A day they tried to drive anyway and soon after leaving they went limp and could not go... The police thought under influence... and Locked up... The day they never showed... (personal experience)
